"Since 2003 I have been a member of the Governing Body of Moss Hall Junior as a volunteer nominated by the Local Authority. Following changes to the constitution of the Governing Body this year, I am now serving as a Co-opted governor.

I have previously served as the Chair of the Teaching, Learning and Pupil Welfare Committee and at present I am a member of the Teaching, Learning and Pupil Welfare Committee and the Personnel and Pay Committee. I was the Link Governor for Special Education Needs (SEN) for ten years and am now the link for English As An Additional Language (EAL), History and Geography.

Professionally, I have worked in Special Education as a Specialist in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD/dyslexia) in inner-city multi ethnic schools in both Primary and Secondary sectors. While I have a special interest in meeting the needs of children with learning difficulties, I like to see that every child has access to all opportunities to receive the best possible education. During my work in the industrial sector for a period of time, amongst other things, I have been involved in designing/organising/promoting career paths in industries for young people and as a volunteer for a Job-Seekers program, I have been guiding/motivating young people to actively seek employment. I also sit on the Local Authority School Admissions Appeal Panel.

I enjoy immensely and take pride in being a part of Moss Hall Juniors and its community and my association with the team that helps to maintain the high standards of the school."
